Today's Society

In today's society there is a lot of discrimination going on even though we may not be aware of it. In the book, Incidents in the life of a Slave girl, Linda gets discriminated against because she was a slave. She gets treated badly because she is black. People may think that discrimination is not going on in today's socity, but infact it still is. Some examples may be the discrimination of how men have more authority over woman. Another example of discrimination in our society is poverty. People treat people differently just because of their social status. If you are in the lower class you are thought of as not being worth anything. Our society is still discriminating against people just like how Linda was discriminated, but in different ways.
