What trick does Huck play on Jim? Why is he tricking him now when he didn't want to before?
Jim thought that it was bad luck that Huck had dealt with a snake skin who had its shed. Huck plays a trick on Jim by placing a rattle snake by his bed. Jim gets bit by the snakes mate. Jim's ankle is now very swollen because of the bite. Huck had many opportunities to trick Jim, but didn't take the risk. I think that before Huck didn't want to trick Jim because he wanted a friend. I don't think that Huck planed out this trick as well as he wanted to, or I don't think he thought that it would be that harmful. Huck felt badly about the prank after he did it but Jim proved to Huck that touching the snake skin really did cause bad luck.
