Chapter 26-28

How does Huck ruin the Duke and King’s plan? Why does he do it?

Huck ruins the Duke and the King's plan by telling Mary Jane that they are con artists. This could very well ruin Huck's life and put him into a lot of danger. The Duke and the King want to steal 6,000 dollars. They come up with a very elaborate idea and plan to do so. Huck steals the money from the Duke and the King and puts it inside of the coffin. I think that Huck does this to show the readers that he wants to be more mature. Huck tries to do what is right and morally correct. He thinks that it would be bad for the Duke and the King to "win" by getting away with stealing all of this money. Huck decides to do the right think and tell Mary Jane that they are con-artists.
